The El Faro cheese manufacturer achieved the highest score in the Tabefe de Feaga Awards.
The Lanzarote cheese manufacturer “El Faro” has been selected as the Best Canary Islands Cheese 2022 in the Tabefe Awards. Of all Canarian cheeses presented, El Faro came first place in the soft cheese category. El Faro came second in the semi-cured category.
Over 100 cheeses were presented at the Tabefe Awards, from the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Murcia, La Rioja and Madrid. The judging panel was made up of 15 professional tasters.
Soft Cheese – 1st Place: El Farito Cheese, El Faro Cheese, Lanzarote
Semi-Cured – 1st Place: Julián Díaz Cheese, Tiscamanita, Tuineje
Cured – 1st Place: El Roano Cheese, Lorca, Murcia
Raw Milk Cheese (soft) – 1st Place: Las Lameras Cheese, Villa de Mazo, La Palma
Raw Milk Cheese (Semi-Cured) – 1st Place: Rosa de la Madera Cheese, Lezque, Tuineje.
Raw Milk Cheese (Cured) – 1st Place: Luna de Awuara Cheese, Villa de Garafia, La Palma.
