A 69-year-old Italian woman was evacuated from Papagayo beach yesterday.
Firemen attended the scene at 2.45 pm after being informed that the woman could not leave the beach after being caught up in a wave and suffering a fractured ankle.
She was carried her up to the path, where she was taken to Playa Blanca health centre.
