67-year-old fisherman falls to his death in Lanzarote

A 67-year-old fisherman died after falling from a rocky shore into the sea yesterday.

The incident was reported at 11.20 am in the area near the Cueva de Agua at Los Cocoteros, on Lanzarote’s east coast, after bathers in the area retrieved the man from the water.

On arrival, emergency services could only confirm the death of the victim, whose body was removed to a more accessible place to await the coroner.
