A 35-year-old has been arrested for a drug trafficking charge, among other charges.

Last month, February 21st, the Guardia Civil arrested a 35-year-old in Costa Teguise for drug trafficking, resisting arrest, disobedience, and violation of road safety.

According to the report, the 35-year-old was about to be identified and questioned by the Guardia Civil in Guatiza. However, the detainee chose to flee the scene and almost hit one of the agents in doing so.

Ignoring directions from the agents, the 35-year-old continued to drive recklessly and was seen throwing a package out of the vehicle window shortly after. The package was retrieved by the Guardia Civil afterwards who verified that it contained 460 grams of hashish.

The 35-year-old was eventually detained by the Guardia Civil and their property in El Mojón was searched. In the search the agents found 39 grams of hashish, 759 grams of marijuana, drug manufacturing tools, weapons and 8500 pounds and 1400 euros in cash.
