A 20-year-old man had to be rescued from the sea by an emergency helicopter yesterday.
The rescue took place 200 metres off the coast of Los Charcones, the series of natural rock pools near Playa Blanca.
After being rescued, the young man was seen to have various injuries and was taken to the Dr José Molina Orosa hospital.
It is the latest in a number of incidents that have taken place at Los Charcones, a difficult-to-access area with unpredictable seas.
