The Lanzarote Wine Run returns this Sunday, June 16th, after it was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid.

The event, which celebrated Lanzarote’s wine country with various runs and walks, in an atmosphere that was as social as it was competitive, was first developed by Kenneth Gasque in 2009, before island authorities later took over its running.

In 2020 the event was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic and hadn’t returned until now, June 16th 2024.

Organised jointly with the Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Vinos de Lanzarote and the Yaiza Ayuntamiento, with the collaboration of Club La Santa, the event will be held on Sunday, June 16th and will consist of a 13-kilometer walk, a short run of the same distance and a 23-kilometre run.

The 20 participating bodegas are finalising preparations to surprise participants and visitors in La Geria this Sunday.

The participating businesses from Lanzarote include: La Geria, El Grifo, Bermejo, Rubicon, Guiguan, Cohombrillo 4/24, Vega de Yuco, Martinón, Entre Latidos, Salinas de Janubio, Vulcano, La Florida, Lágrima de Malvasía, Titerok-Akaet, Tisalaya, Erupción and Tierra de Volcanes.
