At Christmas, San Bartolomé is one of Lanzarote’s prettiest towns, and if you’re a fan of quality and design, a visit to Pablo Ramos Baldi’s studio and shop is an absolute must while you’re there.
For several years, Pablo Ramos Baldi’s studio and shop on Calle Rubicón has been a magnet for design enthusiasts on Lanzarote. Pablo has been exercising his sharp eye for beautiful, unique and slightly quirky items at trade fairs throughout the year, and Christmas is one of the best times to find out what he’s brought back to Lanzarote.
That’s because Christmas is a time when we naturally think about decorating our homes and giving and receiving gifts, and Pablo’s shop is absolutely perfect for both those activities. Once you walk through the door, you’ll instantly realise you’re in a place where taste, attention to detail and originality are valued.
We had a quick word with Pablo as he was preparing for the festive season:
What plans do you have for Christmas, Pablo?
Our Christmas collection has been on display since November. There are a lot of items on offer, but one of my favourite lines is an Italian collection from Venice featuring balls made of crystal.
We also offer discounts of up to 50% on certain Christmas items.
What are the trends that you’ve seen this year?
One of the most exciting current interior décor trends is a very minimalist style that relates to natural and organic forms. We’re talking about various shades of white and beige, and elegant, natural curves rather than harsh geometry.
You’re well-known for your exquisite design work on the island. Which projects have you carried out recently?
I’ve designed two restaurants – the Mumbai Masala in Playa Blanca and the Restaurante Le Petit Jardin, at the Marina Rubicón in Playa Blanca, and it was great to work on the décor of the Munsoo organic restaurant in Soo, as well. In addition to those commissions, I’ve carried out work on various private properties on Lanzarote, Tenerife and Malaga.
Any other messages?
I’d just like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
