Lanzarote Fashion Weekend brings local creative talent to Arrecife on 6th and 7th November, with jewellery designer Tania Candela presenting exclusive Famaraspirit pieces created especially for the event.
Fashion is often associated with clothing, but the pieces chosen to complete an outfit can be just as expressive. Jewellery can change the character of a look, draw attention to the movement of the body or provide a personal connection to a place, memory or idea. On 6th and 7th November, Lanzarote Fashion Weekend will bring local designers together at Multicines Atlántida in Arrecife, giving the public an opportunity to discover participating brands through a market and fashion shows. Admission will be free.
Among the designers taking part is Tania Candela, founder of Famaraspirit, who will be showcasing a selection of exclusive and unique jewellery pieces created especially for the event. Her participation brings a distinctive jewellery perspective to an event celebrating the island’s creative talent.
Tania’s approach has developed over decades of working with jewellery and exploring different cultures. She began experimenting with wires and stones at the age of seventeen, learning through hands-on practice and observing experienced craftspeople. Later, travelling across several continents introduced her to different traditions, materials and ways of understanding the relationship between people and the natural world.
Her eventual move to Caleta de Famara in 1995 marked a turning point. The landscape of Lanzarote became a lasting source of inspiration, influencing the organic shapes and textures that now define Famaraspirit’s collections.
For Tania, jewellery is a form of artistic expression rather than simply an accessory. The pieces explore how natural forms can be translated into objects worn close to the body, allowing individual style and personal meaning to come together. This approach moves beyond familiar jewellery conventions, with designs influenced by marine life, the island’s volcanic surroundings and Canarian craftsmanship.
The special pieces prepared for Lanzarote Fashion Weekend offer visitors the chance to discover this creative vision in the context of a live fashion event. Alongside the market, the fashion shows will provide a setting in which to see how jewellery, clothing and personal expression work together.

Materials also play a role in the brand’s wider philosophy. Famaraspirit works with recycled and traceable silver, alongside gold vermeil, as part of its commitment to more responsible jewellery production.
Those who would like to follow Tania’s work can find Famaraspirit on Instagram and Facebook at @famaraspirit, where the collections and the ideas behind them offer a closer look at the designer’s creative world.
