Two competitions organized by Las Palmeras Golf Society took place in January. Both were well attended by a multi- national group of male and female golfers, whose handicaps range from 2 to 28.
Annie Rayner was the runaway winner of the monthly Henson Cup on 3rd January (Stableford format) with an excellent score of 36. Annie is a former nurse originally from the northeast of England, but nowadays she is a “swallow” who spends every winter in the warmth of Lanzarote, enjoying golf among many other activities.
The Arthur Adolph Trophy was played on January 7th. This yearly competition has always been a favourite among the Society Members because of its challenging Medal format. The winner was the popular Mick Warren, from Costa Teguise, with a score of 78. Mick, a retired plumber from Newmarket, has been living in Lanzarote since 2015. He loves the island and its lifestyle, particularly golf! He is also an avid supporter of Los Rojillos, the UD Lanzarote football team.
The Society play every Tuesday and Friday and we welcome visitors.
