Lanzarote’s Paralympic triathlete, Lionel Morales, took sixth place in the PTS2 paratriathlon event at Paris yesterday, winning an Olympic diploma.

After the uncertainty of a weekend in which all triathlon events were postponed on Sunday due to pollution levels in the Seine, 51-year-old Lionel gave an excellent account of himself in his event.

The Cabildo has congratulated Lionel, calling him an “example for young athletes, who inspires us to continue promoting inclusivity in sport in our community.”
