30 workers will carry out a “shock plan” to clear the roadsides of Lanzarote over the following days.
Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort and Public Works councillor Jacobo Media announced the plan in Yaiza on Friday.
“We want a more prosperous Lanzarote,” said Betancort. “And the sight of weeds invading the road does not represent the residential or touristic image of our island.” Betancort pledged to rpovide more resources to keep roadsides clear.
Work will start in the south of the island, moving northwards in days to come.
