Fire fighters were alerted to a rubbish bin fire in Costa Teguise yesterday morning, bringing the total to 67 bins burned in 2023.
At approximately 5am on Thursday morning, the emergency services were alerted to Calle De los Volcanes in Costa Teguise.
Upon arrival, the fire fighters found two rubbish bins on fire. After extinguishing the fire, they determined that the bins were rendered useless due to the damage.
67 CONTAINERS BURNED IN 2023
As of July 7th, the total number of rubbish bins burned in 2023 is 67. 62% of those were in Arrecife, 5% in San Bartolomé, 2% in Teguise, 11% in Tías, 5% in Yaiza, and 2% in Tinajo.
In 2022 a total of 110 rubbish container fires were reported.
