A 60-year-old woman died and her 45-year-old daughter was critically injured yesterday in a tragic accident near Guatiza.
The pair, both tourists, were driving a buggy off-road when they apparently lost control of the vehicle and fell 20 metres into one of the disused quarries in the area.
Emergency services were contacted at 3.30 and rushed to the scene. One woman was rushed to the Dr José Molina Orosa Hospital with serious head injuries, while the other woman was declared dead at the scene.
