This April was the second hottest on Lanzarote since records began in 1961, according to AEMET, the Spanish Meteorological Agency.
Only 2008 has seen a hotter April, and this year temperatures were two degrees higher than the average.
There was also 28% less rain than the average, making it the ninth driest April for 62 years.
