The National Police have arrested two men in Arrecife allegedly connected to the recent rubbish bin and vehicle fires.
The men, aged 44 and 51, have been arrested for allegedly causing two fires in Arrecife recently. Last month, two vehicles and several rubbish bins were set on fire in the capital.
According to the police report, an investigation was conducted after the incidents which lead to the identification of the two men (both of which have existing criminal records.)
Both men are now awaiting the following legal proceedings.
THE END OF THE FIRES?
In July last year two men were arrested by National Police after an investigation into two arson attacks on bins and four cars.
In October last year the National Police arrested a 41-year-old man in Yaiza who was caught on CCTV setting a bin on fire. Upon arrest, the 41-year-old confessed that he was the one responsible for the numerous fires across the island (approximately 118 arson attacks.)
Despite the arrests, the reports of fires have continued.
