The Guardia Civil’s search continues for the 26-year-old Czech man who was reported missing in Playa Blanca last Tuesday.

Manager of the island’s Emergency Consortium, Enrique Espinosa, stated that “the Guardia Civil are continuing the investigate the disappearance. Nobody has found anything. We have no record of anything, only that a gentlemen in a bar saw him walking in the area. He said he knew him and that he walked there every day. But the area to cover is very large.”

With the possibility that the 26-year-old had fallen into the sea, Espinosa added that “Salvamento Marítimo continues to search the waters, following the tides to determine where a body could be. After days of bad seas, it may take longer for a body to emerge. Or it could be trapped in a cave, but since the area is so large it is difficult for divers to investigate.”

Klastternik told his flatmate he was going for a walk at 5.30 on Tuesday, February 28th, left their flat in Playa Blanca and did not return. The search involving a Maritime Rescue helicopter, Guardia Civil, police drone operators, a Civil Protection jet-ski and a dog team from Emerlan was carried out at the start of the month in the area of Los Charcones.
