A 53-year-old woman died after driving her car off the Famara cliffside at 7.45 am this morning.
An emergency helicopter located the vehicle and firemen later confirmed the death of its occupant.
The Famara cliff is a known location for suicides. Recently, the Cabildo removed the remains of several vehicles from the cliffside, in respionse to environmental issues and the feelings of the relatives of victims.
