Lanzarote’s Cabildo and the fire service will remove 15 wrecked cars from the Famara cliffs and the Barranco de Temisa in Haría.
20 firemen have already been dismantling the cars over the past week, creating 17 sacks of scrap. This morning a helicopter will begin to lift the remains of the vehicles to the car park at the Ermita de las Nieves, where a salvage company will take charge of them.
The project is being carried out to improve the environment of the Famara cliffs, which are one of the most important botanical sites in the Canaries.
