The Arrecife Ayuntamiento presented the 10th edition of the Carrera Contra La Violencia de Género this week.
“I invite all citizens to participate in this race, which is more than a sporting event, it is a meeting of social awareness and union among all”, stated the Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez.
In her speech, the mayor recalled the number of people who died in 2021 as a result of gender violence. “There were 47, forty-seven, stories of true horror, with minors in many cases who will carry this for the rest of their lives.”.
The race will take place this Saturday, November 26th. The route will be along the Avenida Marítima with a total distance of 2.5 kilometres. There’s still time for those interested to sign up through the website www.tripasioneventos.com.
