Yaiza has emerged as the most expensive destination in the Canary Islands for summer accommodation, according to a new study by holiday rental platform Holidu.
The report, which analysed accommodation searches by Spanish travellers for stays between July 4 and August 30, 2026, found that Yaiza commands a median nightly rate of €260, making it the costliest municipality among the 25 most searched destinations in the archipelago.
Lanzarote features prominently throughout the rankings, with four municipalities appearing among the islands’ most sought-after holiday destinations. Teguise ranks 11th in popularity, followed by Tías in 12th, Yaiza in 14th and Arrecife in 18th.
While Yaiza is only the 14th most searched destination, it tops the price table by a considerable margin. Tías is the second most expensive municipality in the ranking, with a median nightly rate of €172, while Teguise places fifth at €154 per night.
Between the two Lanzarote municipalities are Adeje in Tenerife, with an average nightly price of €166, and Agaete in Gran Canaria at €156.
Accommodation in Arrecife is considerably more affordable, with a median nightly rate of €118, placing the island’s capital 17th in terms of price.
At the other end of the scale, the Canary Islands’ most affordable destinations this summer are Icod de los Vinos in Tenerife at €95 per night, followed by Los Llanos de Aridane on La Palma and Puerto del Rosario on Fuerteventura, both with median rates of €101.
The popularity ranking itself is led by the two provincial capitals. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife are the most searched destinations among Spanish travellers, each with an average nightly accommodation price of €108.
Holidu’s summer price index is based on searches made through holidu.es, with pricing calculated using the median cost per accommodation per night. The data was collected on July 13, 2026, for bookings with check-in dates between July 4 and August 30, 2026.
