Yaiza Ayuntamiento has begun a major renovation project around the Uga Canarian wrestling arena, backed by an investment of 1.3 million euros.

The work covers 17,000 square metres of public land and includes the creation of 300 parking spaces, the construction of a new road in front of the arena’s façade, plus accessibility improvements, pedestrian pathways and upgraded street lighting.

Mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, described the project as “one of the comprehensive renovation projects for the area, complementing the renovation of the sports field adjacent to the Uga school and works to improve safety at the school’s entrances, all of which are already underway.”

Councillor for Public Works, Ángel Lago, added: “We are not only upgrading urban infrastructure to meet residents’ needs, but the project also includes waterproofing the wrestling arena and the adjacent municipal building, as well as enhancing their appearance with stone walls.”
