Yesterday’s strong winds caused a palm tree to fall onto the Calle Las Cuestas in Yaiza. The incident took place at around 8.30 pm, and firemen were called out to clear the road. No one was injured.
In the industrial area of Arrecife, on the road to San Bartolomé, the wind also threatened to dislodge the sign of a business by the roadside. Firemen arrived to secure the sign.
A yellow wind alert remains in place until 6 am tomorrow morning, while winds are forecast to reduce considerably by Thursday afternoon.
