Carnival Weather!
As I write this, January 2020 has turned out very pleasant so far, averaging 21 degrees with plenty of sunshine and only a little rain. February sees the start of the carnival celebrations with the parade in Puerto Del Carmen on Saturday 29th. If you have not seen one before, you are in for a real treat with music, dancing, costumes and fun galore. In my six years on the island I have not seen bad weather for the parade and hope this year is not an exception.
February 2019 was a real mixed-bag weather wise – we started the month with a wind-and-wave warning and temperatures of 20o in the day. We also had a polar vortex, heavy rain and then ended with calima and temperatures of 27o. So just like the year before, the end of the month was the better part. Sea temperatures are the coldest that we ever see here in February so bear that in mind when planning a beach day.
