The Water Consortium has removed Canal Gestión logos and branding from facilities in Lanzarote, marking another step in the transition following the end of the former concessionaire’s involvement.
The first changes were carried out at the Díaz Rijo Desalination Centre and the service’s main administrative offices, where existing corporate signage has been taken down as part of a wider effort to refresh the service’s visual identity.
At the same time, the Consortium is developing a new corporate image that will provide a unified identity for the infrastructure and resources associated with water management across Lanzarote. The new branding is expected to be introduced gradually over the coming weeks.
Water Commissioner Domingo Cejas said the organisation is currently phasing out the previous branding while advancing work on a new identity that will reflect “this new stage” of the service.
For the time being, some operational assets, including service vehicles and staff uniforms, will continue to display the former branding to ensure day-to-day operations remain unaffected during the transition.
The first branding removals were carried out after a meeting between the Works Council and employees on Monday morning. During the meeting, workers were reassured about the ongoing transition and the future operation of the service.
Cejas praised staff for their commitment throughout the process, highlighting their dedication to maintaining services for residents of Lanzarote. He attended the meeting alongside Cabildo President Oswaldo Betancort, the island’s Director of Human Resources, and the manager of the Water Consortium.
