Ángel Vázquez, head of the CACTS (Centres of Art, Tourism and Culture) said yesterday that the proposed shuttle-bus system to the Montañas de Fuego could cause losses of up to eight or nine million Euros a year.

Vazquez based his comments on an “internal report”, once again rejecting proposals supported by the Ayuntamientos of Yaiza and Tinajo, and opposition Socialists. Vazquez said that the recently introduced system of pre-booked timeslots for visits was working and had succeeded in reducing queues.

His comments were made at meeting which announced a net profit for the CACTs of €1.97 million in 2025, with a turnover of €52.5 million.
