A 17-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday evening after suffering serious injuries in a kitesurfing accident at Famara Beach.
The incident happened at approximately 6:34pm.
An emergency response was launched, involving firefighters, the beach rescue service, two ambulances, a medical helicopter, and the Local Police.
Rescue teams reached the injured teenager on the beach and evacuated him to a location where medical personnel were waiting. Staff treated him for a serious neck injury before stabilising his condition.
He was then flown by medical helicopter to Lanzarote Airport, where he was transferred to an ambulance and taken to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital for further treatment.
