1,600 airport handling staff will strike this week, affecting Spanish airports.

The CCOO, UGT and USO unions have announced that, from today, Groundforce employees will strike between the hours of 5 am to 7 am; 11 am to 5 pm, and 10 pm to midnight. The action will last indefinitely until an agreement is reached.

The unions claim that Groundforce has failed to honour agreements on pay rises. The strike will affect 1,000 workers in 12 airports, including Lanzarote. 600 Menzies workers will also hold industrial action on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of April, although sources indicate that this may be averted at the last minute.
