Lanzarote’s Olympic silver medallist, Ray Zapata, has been contracted to appear in publicity for the island for a year and a half.
Lanzarote’s Society for the External Promotion of Lanzarote (SPEL) has paid €140,000 for the rights t use Zapata’s name and image.
Zapata, who many feel was extremely unlucky to miss out on a Gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, has previously appeared in photo shoots to promote Lanzarote.
