The airline that closed its bases in Gran Canaria and Tenerife two years ago is now considering re-establishing its bases once again.

Under the financial threat of the pandemic, Norwegian Airlines was forced to close its bases in the Canary Islands two years ago. However, CEO, Geir Karlsen, stated that “the market is doing very well” and that the Spain “is a very important market for us, especially the beach destinations.”

The airline will reopen its Barcelona base on May 1st, which also closed due to the pandemic, and will be operating during the summer.

Karlsen admitted that re-establishing is bases in Tenerife and Gran Canaria may be in the company’s plans in the near future.
