Set inside the historic fortress known as the Fortaleza del Hambre, transformed by César Manrique half a century ago, the evenings will pair the restaurant’s renewed culinary offering with performances by young Lanzarote pianist Jorge Caluz.
Tourism councillor Ángel Vázquez described the project as “an experience for all the senses,” blending gastronomy, culture and emotion in a carefully curated setting.
Two special evenings have been scheduled for June 4 and June 18, both beginning at 7:45pm. The concerts, titled “Under the Moonlight” and “Summer Breeze,” will feature around 50 minutes of live music inspired by Lanzarote’s landscapes, the Atlantic Ocean and the island’s night-time atmosphere. Caluz’ programme combines Spanish and English-language classics performed in a soft, elegant style.

Concert Programmes
The first evening, “Under the Moonlight,” takes place on June 4 and will include piano interpretations of famous songs such as:
- Hijo de la luna – Mecano
- Fly Me to the Moon – Frank Sinatra
- Moon River – Henry Mancini
- A la caldera – Taburiente
The second event, “Summer Breeze,” on June 18, will feature:
- Alfonsina y el mar – Mercedes Sosa
- Ocean Eyes – Billie Eilish
- La Isla Bonita – Madonna
- Ojitos Lindos – Bad Bunny & Bomba Estéreo
- Feeling Good – Nina Simone
Centros Turísticos recommends booking in advance through its website, as the Thursday-night events form part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the MIAC–Castillo de San José restaurant.
