Spain’s weather agency, AEMET, is predicting a heatwave that will see temperatures on the island rise significantly from today until Sunday
Temperatures will rise steadily to the mid/ high twenties, with possible maximums of 32 degrees Celsius on Saturday. AEMET originally predicted maximums of 36 degrees, but has modified this figure overnight. This will be the second heatwave of the year, following a previous one in mid-April.
A light calima is also predicted to arrive tomorrow (Wednesday 20th May). UV index levels could rise to 11, meaning great care should be taken in the sun.
