The Liberty Race is an annual event that takes place all over Spain, raising money for young Paralympic athletes. However, this year, for the first time ever, the Covid-19 epidemic forced organisers to hold the race online.

3,000 individuals took part in the race, sharing photos and experiences over social media using the hashtag #MiCarreraLiberty, and an outstanding €6,333 was raised for the Paralympic Youth Athletics Promises Team.

Supported by Liberty Seguros, the Paralympic Athletics Promises Team comprises young people from all over Spain between the ages of 12 and 20 who are living with physical, visual, or intellectual challenges, such as those with learning disabilities or debilitating conditions such as cerebral palsy.

Funds raised through the Liberty Race help athletes to enhance their level of performance through technical training and specialised plans and assist with financing their attendance at national and international competitions. Since 2012, the Liberty Race has raised an impressive €246,333 in total to support these young athletes.
