The number of British holiday makers to Lanzarote continues to increase despite an overall fall in British visitors to Spain.

Between January and July this year, Spain received 6% fewer British tourists than in the same period in 2019 – the last “normal” season before the pandemic.  Caixabank experts have attributed this to “the UK’s poor macroeconomic performance, an increase in interest rates and the weakness of Sterling.”

However, the overall amount of British visitors to Lanzarote has risen by 2% in the same time periods, and tourists from the United Kingdom account for well over 50% of the island’s tourist market.
