Lanzarote consumers are less confident about their present and future prospects than at any time since the Covid pandemic, according to the results of the latest Consumer Confidence survey.

The survey, which is carried out every quarter and combines ratings for the present situation and future prospects, gives Lanzarote a score of 70.2 out of a possible 200.  While this is the highest in the Canaries, it is the lowest rating since the first quarter of 2021, when the island was under severe restrictions resulting from Covid measures.

Lanzarote has only exceeded 100 points, indicating an overall favourable attitude, once this decade. This was in the fourth quarter of 2021. However, the island has consistently scored higher than all other Canary Islands apart from Fuerteventura.

The latest survey shows that 22% of those surveyed find it difficult to pay monthly bills, while just 6% find it easy. 21.5% of respondents think things will improve in the next six months while 28% believe they will get worse.
