Lanzarote Airport welcomed 830,015 passengers in August 2026. The figure represents a 0.5% increase compared with August 2025.
Across the Canary Islands, airports handled a combined 4,768,328 passengers during the month, up 0.8% year-on-year.
Of the total, 4,768,328 passengers travelled on commercial flights. Domestic traffic continued to grow, with 2,213,956 passengers, an increase of 1.2% compared with August last year. International flights carried 2,545,185 passengers, a 1.1% increase.
TRAFFIC BY AIRPORTS
Gran Canaria Airport remained the busiest in the archipelago, handling 1,334,497 passengers, up 3.1%. It is followed by Tenerife South Airport, with 1,064,586 passengers (-4.2%); Lanzarote Airport, with 830,015 passengers (+0.5%); Tenerife North, with 699,814 (+2.4%); Fuerteventura, with 640,687 (+1.9%); La Palma, with 148,857 (+7.2%); El Hierro, with 35,158 (+3.1%); and La Gomera, with 14,857 (+7.2%).
JANUARY – AUGUST FIGURES
From January to August 2026, the Canary Islands’ airport network recorded 36,314,210 passengers, a slight 0.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Of the 36,174,625 commercial passengers, 15,085,950 travelled on domestic flights, an increase of 0.6%, while 21,088,675 travelled on international routes, down 0.5% year-on-year.
