Inter-island air traffic involving Lanzarote continued to grow during the first four months of 2026, with almost 16,000 more passengers travelling between the island and the rest of the Canary Islands compared with the same period last year.
According to figures from the Canary Islands Statistics Institute (ISTAC), a total of 416,179 passengers travelled on inter-island routes between January and April, representing a 3.8% increase on 2025.
The busiest connections remained those linking Lanzarote with Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
Flights between Lanzarote and Tenerife recorded the largest percentage increase, rising by 4.5% to reach 145,977 passengers — nearly 6,000 more than during the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, routes between Lanzarote and Gran Canaria saw passenger numbers climb by 3.3%, adding almost 9,000 extra travellers and bringing the total to 269,601.
Binter continues to dominate inter-island connections from Lanzarote, operating 101 weekly flights to Gran Canaria, alongside 48 weekly services run by Canaryfly.
For Tenerife North, Binter currently offers 54 weekly flights from Lanzarote, while Canaryfly operates an additional 14 services. Binter also runs 14 weekly flights between Lanzarote and Tenerife South.
Smaller-scale connections were also recorded, including charter flights to Fuerteventura carrying 388 passengers and services to La Palma with 227 passengers.
Binter’s regular summer route linking Lanzarote and La Palma is also set to resume for the summer season.
