A 31-year-old man has been arrested in Puerto del Carmen by the Guardia Civil as the alleged perpetrator of a fire and theft.
The Guardia Civil arrested the 31-year-old on April 12th. He is accused of setting fire to a vehicle worth approximately 40,000 euros and robbery.
According to the report, the Guardia Civil received a report on April 8th about a vehicle fire in Puerto del Carmen. Upon arrival at the scene, they spoke to the owner of the vehicle to gather evidence.
After looking at CCTV footage, interviewing the victim and witnesses, the Guardia Civil located the 31-year-old at a flat in Puerto del Carmen. He was found carrying an empty fuel cannister.
The 31-year-old had also committed attempted robbery, holding two tourists at knifepoint before running off after one of them screamed.
He is now awaiting the following legal proceedings.
