The Canaries is actively promoting itself in Germany as a winter destination where Germans can escape from fuel bills and the cold winter at home.

Germany recently approved €300 payments to workers and pensioners to help them address the high energy prices expected this winter and, for the Canaries, this is an opportunity to set their stall out.

The campaign is aimed at Germans in the 55 to 75 year age group, owing to their financial situation and the fact that these are the most likely to have spent time in the Canaries previously.

Similar campaigns, emphasising the warmth and sunshine of the Canaries, are expected to be extended to other European countries in October at a cost of over €10 million.
