A new project titled “Conoce tu isla”, get to know your island, will start this Saturday and run until February 2023 – providing hiking trails for young people and families.

The new project “Conoce tu isla”, organised by the Cabildo, is “to value the environmental, historical and cultural heritage of Lanzarote in an active way through educational itineraries”, explained the Cabildo Youth Minister, Myriam Barros. “The hiking trails will be complemented with other activities, trying to offer young people an alternative and health leisure”, she added.

The activities aimed at young people on Lanzarote will take place in the afternoons or at night. Additionally, the activities will include practical learning workshops on photography, history, dance, skateboarding, astrophysics and more.

A total of 16 outings have been scheduled so far that will cover various areas on the island. Eight trails aimed at young people titled “Lanzarote at night and sunset” and another eight trails for school-age children and their families titled “Lanzarote with the family.”.

Registration

The first route will take place this Saturday July 23rd from 7.30pm until 10pm and will go from Montaña Blanca to Playa Honda. 

On Sunday the 24th the family hiking route will take place from 10am until 1pm and will go through the Parque Natural de los Volcanes.

“The programming will continue in August with two other routes for both groups, and so on until February 2023”, said Barros.
