The Cabildo has announced that a tender will shortly be issued for a €2 million contract to renovate the LZ-34 road connecting Tahiche with Costa Teguise.
According to the outline for the project, the existing road ” shows surface wear, with cracks and ruts in both lanes.” The road will be resurfaced, and pedestrian and cycle paths added.
Signage will be updated and lighting installed at both the Tahiche and Costa Teguise ends of the seven-kilometre stretch of road, which skirts the southern side of the Volcán de Tahiche and passes the Golf Club and Aquapark.
If all goes according to plan, the works could commence early next year and be completed by summer 2027.
