Teguise Mayor Olivia Duque has said that parking by Famara beach will be prohibited at some point in 2027.

Speaking on Lancelot TV, Duque said that wooden bollards would be installed on the beach front, limiting parking in this area to just a few vehicles. All other vehicles will be required to use the parking facilities behind Caleta de Famara.

Traffic jams and large concentrations of vehicles have become an increasing problem on the sandy road overlooking the beach in recent years.

Duque also said that the bus interchange in Costa Teguise would be opening “in the coming weeks”.
