Average tourist spend increased just 4%

The amount of money each tourist spends on average while on Lanzarote increased by just 4% last year, according to a new survey from the Canarian Institute of Statistics.

A total of €167.60 is spent daily by each holiday-maker to the island, 4% more than last year’s total of €160.70.  However, last year saw a rise of over 12% on the year before, suggesting that tourists are tightening their purse strings recently.

€74.20 of the total is spent on accommodation, while €57.60 is dedicated to transport, including flights, taxis, hire cars etc.

Of the remainder, €23.50 is spent daily on food, €7.1 on leisure activities and €4.50 on shopping.
