The Arrecife local police have made an arrest after receiving a call about an assault that had taken place in a home in the Altavista neighbourhood in Arrecife.
The Arrecife local police received the call last Sunday, January 7th, alerting them to an assault taking place in a home in the Altavista neighbourhood.
Upon arrival the police found the front door open with a woman calling for help inside. The 55-year-old victim was found with injuries to her face, neck and arms after being assaulted by her 69-year-old partner.
The local police were told of previous incidents between them that hadn’t been reported by the victim out of fear.
During the local police’s intervention, they seized five large blades, a kitchen knife and a pistol. In addition to this the police also found envelopes full of counterfeit euro notes totalling 8,800 euros.
