The Arrecife Ayuntamiento have announced that they will turn on the Christmas lights today.

“The lights, garlands, trees and various festive structures will fill all parts of the city with joy, leaving no neighbourhood without Christmas lights”, stated the mayor.

The Ayuntamiento have announced that the switch on even will take place today, November 25th, at 8pm at the Parqeu Ramírez Cerdá. Mayor of Arrecife, Astrid Pérez, will be present along with other municipal councillors to welcome the festivities.

The switch on event will feature performances by the string quartet of the Orquesta Clásica de Lanzarote, the soprano María Candelaria Hernández, the children’s choir from CEIP Antonio Zerolo and the Fide Parrilla Dance School.

This year the Ayuntamiento have made an effort to reach all of the neighbourhoods in the capital and installed 6,000 metres of LED garlands that will adorn the streets of the municipality, as well as 900 ornamental arches.
