Another 71 Electric Scooters Confiscated in Puerto del Carmen

Tías Local Police removed another 71 electric scooters from the streets last week, most of them in Puerto del Carmen. The scooters will be impounded in the municipal deposit.

Mayor José Juan Cruz and Mobility Councillor Sergio García commented that the scooters had been removed following complaints by residents and said that they would continue to enforce laws relating to personal mobility vehicles.

By-laws relating to Tías require companies to obtain operating licenses, pay fees for the use of public space, and carry third-party liability insurance.

Operators must comply with the guidelines of Spain’s Traffic Department and adapt their fleets so that the vehicles are unable to exceed 25 km/h, are geolocated, and have locking systems to prevent illegal parking on pavements.
