37th Lanzarote Craft Fair attracts 77,500 visitors during six-day event

The 37th Lanzarote Craft Fair attracted 77,500 visitors over six days, with organisers praising strong public support for the island’s artisan sector and a programme celebrating traditional crafts, culture and sustainability.

The Cabildo has hailed this year’s Lanzarote Craft Fair as a success after 77,500 residents and visitors attended the event in Mancha Blanca, Tinajo, between September 10th and 15th.

A total of 140 artisans took part in the 37th edition of the fair, once again turning Mancha Blanca into a major showcase for traditional Canary Islands craftsmanship. This year’s event featured the traditional Canarian hat as the focus of its special exhibition, while Uruguay was the guest country, with its culture and traditions incorporated into the programme.

The president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted the continued interest in the island’s craft sector.

“The fact that 77,500 people visited the Fair demonstrates the scale this event has reached and, especially, the continued interest in our crafts. Behind every booth are professionals who work year-round, knowledge passed down through generations, and economic activity. The Fair allows all that work to gain visibility and reach thousands of people directly.”

Six days celebrating crafts and culture

Alongside the market stalls, the fair included a programme of cultural, traditional and heritage activities, with demonstrations and events designed to introduce visitors to traditional crafts.

One of the highlights was the second edition of the Lanzarote Craft Awards, recognising career achievements, generational transition and contributions to the island’s craft sector.

More than 200 books sold

Sharing a stand with Lanzarote-based publishers from the Isla Literaria association, more than 200 books were sold during the fair.

The stand offered a range of titles focused on the Canary Islands and works by Canarian authors, showcasing Lanzarote’s publishing sector.
