This year’s edition of the Lanzarote Craft Fair was presented at the Cabildo yesterday, with expectations of up to 70,000 visitors.

This year’s fair will feature 140 participants, and crafters from Uruguay will be special guests. Each year the fair focuses on a traditional island craft, and this year will celebrate the emblematic hats of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, which are woven from palm fronds and other materials.

The fair will be held as usual in the large square at Mancha Blanca as part of the festivities of Los Dolores. It will open on Thursday 10th September at 5.30 pm, and remain open from 10 am until 9.30 pm from the 11th to the 15th of September.

It’s a fascinating event, but visitors should bear in mind that Saturday and Sunday will bring various road closures because of the annual pilgrimage to Mancha Blanca.
