Irregular migration to the Canary Islands falls by more than 55%

Irregular migration to the Canaries by sea has fallen by over 55% this year compared to 2025.

The Canarian figures have contributed strongly to the overall decrease in figures for migration by sea to Spain, which fell by 27.1% until 15 September this year.

When migration by land is included, the figure is 16.5% less than the same period last year, largely due to the 78.7% increase in arrivals to Ceuta following the mass influx at the end of July.
