Complaints are increasing about the facilities at terminal 1 of Lanzarote’s César Manrique Airport, where the main lift between the upper floor and lower arrivals area has been out of order for several weeks.

The moving passenger ramp is also broken, meaning that many passengers arriving at the airport have to haul or push their luggage up the ramp to get to vehicles stationed in the car park.  Once they arrive at the top of the ramp, they will discover that the automatic door leading to the carpark is also out of order, forcing them to walk several metres to an alternative exit.

Disabled passengers who are unable to take the stairs or non-working ramp have to leave the Terminal, cross the road outside and use an alternate lift in the carparking area.

It’s not the first time these facilities have been out of order for extended periods. 2024 also saw several complaints for similar reasons.
