Sonidos Líquidos Main Concert Cancelled Due to Strong Winds

The main concert of the Sonidos Liquidos festival, which was due to take place at Bodega La Geria last night, was cancelled because of high winds.

Early yesterday organisers announced that “Our worst fears have been confirmed…We have experienced gusts of wind in excess of 75 kph, and forecasts indicate that the situation is only going to get worse.”

“Obviously, we have prioritised the safety of all involved: artists, technicians, staff and, of course, the public, and we cannot guarantee that the event will go ahead in conditions of basic safety. We understand that this will cause great inconvenience, for which we apologise profoundly.”

“In the coming days we will provide information about refunds for tickets and bus fares.” 

The cancellation is a tough blow for one of Lanzarote’s favourite festivals, which was due to bring a fine line-up of Spanish indie and pop groups to the heart of Lanzarote’s wine country.
